Just after 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office stopped a vehicle for speeding on Hwy 57 about 12 miles south of Stanton. Upon making contact with the driver, the odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the car. Further investigation revealed the driver, Josef Connell, 25, of Papillion had a suspended driver’s license and also two active Sarpy County arrest warrants. Connell was also found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and also located in his possession were several syringes filled with methamphetamine. Connell was placed under arrest on the multiple charges and was then booked at the Sheriff’s office and later jailed pending the posting of a cash bond.
