Two Teen Girls Transported to Hospital Following One Vehicle Rollover Inside Maskenthine Lake Recreation Area

Just after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday evening the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident inside the Maskenthine Lake area that sent both the teen driver and a teen passenger to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident occurred when the driver of a northbound pickup lost control on the gravel access road near the camping areas and the pickup rolled onto its top. Seatbelts were in use and are credited with lessening injuries to both female occupants. Both occupants were transported to FRHS in Norfolk by Stanton Rescue and the pickup is considered a total loss. Speed is considered a contributing factor in the accident. Stanton County Emergency Management also assisted at the scene.
