Jerry D. Storovich, 54, of Denver, CO (Formerly of Norfolk) was arrested following a vehicle pursuit that began just before 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday night near the Hwy 275 and Hwy 57 junction, north of Stanton when the Stanton County Sheriff’s office attempted to stop a westbound vehicle for having defective brake lights. The SUV failed to stop and fled west on Hwy 275 for several miles before turning north onto a county road and continued to flee on county roads for about ten minutes before the SUV entered a harvested field near 564th Avenue and 846th Road southwest of Hoskins and attempted to flee through the field before his vehicle became disabled. Storovich was then taken into custody at gunpoint from inside the vehicle. Storovich was found in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A larger quantity of methamphetamine was located in the field that had been thrown from the vehicle. Storovich is currently out on bond from felony charges in Madison County and El Paso County, Colorado. NSP also responded and assisted. In an ironic twist on December 5th, 2022, Storovich was arrested by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office after leading the Sheriff’s office on a high-speed pursuit in the same vehicle that began on Hwy 275 and ended in the City of Norfolk after the vehicle tires were deflated using deflation spikes. Storovich was jailed pending the setting of a new cash bond on these felony charges.
