At about 10:00 a.m. on Thursday the Stanton County Sheriff’s office assisted at the scene of an injury accident just West of the Stanton/Madison County line in Madison County near the Nucor Steel plant. The accident occurred when a eastbound pickup and westbound semi collided on icy roadways on High Point Road. The driver of the pickup was injured and couldn’t get out of the wreckage. He was removed by Norfolk Fire/Rescue and taken to FRHS for treatment. It is believed seatbelts were in use.
