Stanton County Sheriff’s Deputy Awarded Life Saving Award

On Friday Stanton County Deputy Sheriff Derek Bosler was recognized with a lifesaving award by the Nebraska State Fair Board for his actions back in August when he was at the State Fair grounds in Grand Island. Bosler who was working security at the fair observed a female in distress choking and with assistance of two others they quickly cleared her airway and began doing CPR as she went unresponsive. The adult female was hospitalized and fully recovered and shared kind words with her heroes on Friday when they were given awards from the State Fair Board. “Another example of a dedicated Deputy Sheriff using his trained talents to help save a life, we are very proud and lucky to have Derek working for us here in Stanton County.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
