Just before midnight on Friday night the Stanton County Sheriff’s office clocked a westbound vehicle travelling at 110 mph in a 65-mph zone on Hwy 275 near Pilger. The 20-year-old driver was stopped and also found to be under the influence of alcoholic liquor. Rogelio Xorxe Tzoc of Norfolk was arrested after failing field sobriety test and further found to have no driver’s license, was in possession of an open alcoholic liquor container and a minor in possession of alcohol. He was booked on those charges and later released after posting a bond. A 23-year-old passenger, Ramiro Xorxe Garcia was cited for also having an open alcoholic container. “This type of reckless driving behavior is an example of why the Sheriff’s office strives to make traffic enforcement a top priority and rid the roadways of drunk and dangerous drivers before someone does get killed.” Sheriff Mike Unger
