On Friday morning around 11:55 a.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was contacted by Faith Regional Health Services that an adult female was in their ER reporting that she was sexually assaulted at a rural Norfolk residence in Stanton County. As a result of the investigation into the alleged sexual assault, the Sheriff’s office was able to obtain a search warrant for the residence of an alleged suspect on east Norfolk Avenue and at approximately 10:00 p.m., the search warrant was served by forcing entry into the residence. The alleged suspect, Kevin Broberg, 53, was located inside the residence and was detained. Evidence was collected at the residence and also seized was drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine. Broberg was interviewed about the alleged sexual assault and information on that investigation will be forwarded to the Stanton County Attorney. Broberg was arrested on the felony drug charge and was jailed pending the posting of a cash bond.
