Just before 10:00 p.m. on Monday night the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a physical disturbance call in the 400 block of Broadmoor in Woodland Park involving a man and a woman. While enroute to the call, a Stanton Sheriff’s deputy observed the male suspect driving a vehicle into the City of Norfolk and followed it before having contact in the 1400 block of 3rd Street with assistance from Norfolk Police. The male, Sergio Ozuna Jr., 33 of Norfolk was arrested at that time on a Madison County Arrest warrant. A subsequent investigation by the Sheriff’s office revealed that Ozuna allegedly had assaulted a pregnant woman in Woodland Park, while her five children were present. Ozuna also allegedly caused physical damage to her vehicle and then fled the area. Ozuna faces charges of Third Degree Domestic Assault (enhanced offense due to a pregnant victim), Child Abuse and Criminal Mischief. Assaulting a pregnant woman enhances the violation to a Class IIIA felony. Ozuna was jailed pending the posting of a cash bond.
