On Friday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m., the Stanton County Sheriff’s office became aware of a wanted person driving west on Hwy 275 west of Pilger. Shortly after the vehicle was observed driving near Spurville on Hwy 275 and the vehicle then suddenly turned off north into a farm lane in an effort to avoid detection. The vehicle was contacted and the lone female driver, Amie Echols, 46, of Allen was taken into custody on a Dakota County Arrest warrant and was also found to be driving with a suspended license. During a search of her vehicle, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located and she was further charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Nichols was booked at the Sheriff’s office on the multiple charges and is scheduled to appear in court next month for arraignment.
