Two Arrested on Outstanding Warrants after Physically Resisting Arrest

Just before 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday night the Stanton County Sheriff’s office attempted to serve multiple arrest warrants on two subjects at the Country Village Trailer Court near Woodland Park. During the encounter a wanted male became uncooperative and fled from the residence and following a brief foot pursuit he was located hiding under the steps of another trailer and was physically subdued and taken into custody. Daniel Emken, 27, of Norfolk was then booked and jailed on a Madison County Arrest Warrant for Theft and also new charges of Obstructing a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest in Stanton County. A female suspect who was also wanted on a Madison County Arrest warrant for Theft and multiple warrants in Stanton County, including one for felony Forgery was not located at the trailer court. A Sheriff’s deputy did suffer a leg injury during the arrest of Emken. A subsequent investigation by the Sheriff’s office tracked the wanted female to a rural residence, south of Norfolk. It was there with assistance of the Madison County Sheriff’s office that Natasha Vanness- Hauf, 27, of Norfolk was taken into custody after she was found hiding in a back room of the residence under a pile of laundry. She was also physically subdued and jailed on the Madison and Stanton County warrants and faces a new charge of Resisting Arrest.
