Iowa Woman Injured in Hwy 275 Accident North of Stanton

Just before 12:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a two vehicle accident at the Hwy 275 and Hwy 57 junction (Spurville) that sent a 74 year old woman to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. The accident occurred when a westbound transport van on Hwy 275 was slowing to turn north onto 566th Avenue and was struck from behind by a westbound car driven Dorothy Richardson of Denison, Iowa. Richardson was taken from the scene by Stanton EMS to FRHS in Norfolk for treatment. The 36 year old van driver from Omaha was not injured. Seatbelts were in use in both vehicle sand airbags deployed in the Richardson car that was considered a total loss. The accident blocked a portion of Hwy 275 for about 45 minutes.
