Seatbelts Credited with Lessening Injuries in Hwy 15 Accident

Just before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 15, just over two miles north of the Hwy 32 junction. The accident occurred when a northbound car driven by Katelyn Bayer, 20, of Columbus lost control of her vehicle and it entered the east ditch and rolled several times coming to rest back on its wheels. Seatbelts are credited with protecting her from serious injuries. Bayer was treated at the scene by Howells Rescue, but declined medical transport. Her vehicle is considered a total loss.
