Truck Driver From Minnesota Injured in Accident On NE Industrial Highway

Just before 3:50 p.m. on Monday the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a truck rollover that sent the lone driver to the hospital . The accident northwest of Woodland Park occurred when a straight truck attempted to turn west onto NE Industrial Highway from Hwy 35 and misjudged the turn and this caused the truck to roll onto its side ripping open the enclosed box spilling all its contents onto the ground. The driver, Mohamed Salad, 60, of Columbia Heights, MN was trapped in the cab and had to be removed by breaking out the front windshield. He was transported to FRHS by Hoskins/Woodland Park Rescue. The truck and its contents (concrete product) are considered a total loss. The wearing of seatbelts is believed to have lessened the injuries of Salad and speed is believed to be a contributing factor. NE Industrial highway was closed for nearly three hours as the scene was cleared. Stanton County Emergency Management also assisted at the scene.
