Several Sentenced to Jail and Probation Terms in Stanton County District Court

Elliott Anderson 24, of Norfolk was sentenced to 270 days in jail following his conviction for Third Degree Domestic Assault. Anderson was arrested last November by the Stanton County Sheriff’ s office following a disturbance call in Woodland Park that resulted in the female victim being transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of severe facial injuries. Alcohol was a contributing factor in the incident for both parties involved. The female victim also is facing charges in connection to the disturbance.

ANDERSON

Also sentenced to a jail term after his probation was revoked was Matthew Peyton, 47, of Stanton. Peyton failed to meet the required guidelines of his probation term on a methamphetamine charge. Peyton received a thirty day jail sentence along with the unsatisfactory completion of his probation term. Peyton was originally arrested along with two others on Christmas Day 2021 in Stanton by the Sheriff’s office following the service of a search warrant at his residence. Both other parties were also convicted of felony drug charges and already sentenced.

PEYTON

Mindi Tabares, 46, of Norfolk was sentenced to ninety days in jail following her conviction on a methamphetamine possession charge. Tabares was arrested last year on Hwy 57 following a traffic stop by the Sheriff’s office.

TABARES

Also sentenced was Terry Schultz, 53, of rural Howells was sentenced to 18 months of probation and ninety days in jail before the end of his probation term after he was convicted of Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. Schultz was arrested by the Sheriff’s office last year following the service of a search warrant at his residence where a firearm was recovered. Schultz is a convicted felon and unable to possess any firearms.

SCHULTZ

Dalton Kolar, 24, of Laurel was sentenced to 12 months of probation and 60 days in jail before the end of probation for an Attempted Violation of the Drug Tax Stamp. Kolar originally was arrested on charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance last June in Stanton by the Sheriff’s office. A co-defendant was already sentenced for felony delivery charges to a lengthy probation term.

KOLAR

Victoria Watkins, 33, of Norfolk was sentenced to 24 months of probation and ninety days in jail before the end of probation following her conviction for Possession of Methamphetamine. She was arrested last year following a traffic stop on Hwy 275 by the Sheriff’s office.

WATKINS

Justin Coolidge, 27, and Alyssa Gragg, 21, both of Norfolk were sentenced to 12 months of probation and ninety days in jail before the end of that term on theft related charges. They were arrested by the Sheriff’s office along with a third co-defendant for stealing a vehicle in Woodland Park and then disposing of it at a local scrap dealer. The third defendant is awaiting trial for his involvement.

Two others failed to show up for court and had felony arrest warrants issued for their arrest. Britney Hovendick, 24, of Beatrice and Rigoberto Gonzalez, 30, Norfolk failed to appear as ordered. Both were originally arrested of methamphetamine possession charges last year in separate traffic stops by the Sheriff’s office.
