The annual disposal (Purge) of seized evidence was completed on Tuesday afternoon at the Sheriff’s office in Stanton. The equivalent of 80 cases of beer and other various types of liquor were disposed of by deputies of the Sheriff’s office along with several pounds of miscellaneous controlled substances and other items of contraband. A court order for disposal was obtained earlier Tuesday from the County Judge and after completion of a records inventory the seized items that are no longer needed for court cases were destroyed under the watchful eye of law enforcement.
