Six Arrested on Theft and Drug Charges after service of Search Warrant

On Tuesday the Stanton County Sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at a residence on Hickory Street in Stanton and as a result of that search warrant, five adults were arrested on drug related charges after methamphetamine, marijuana and a large assortment of drug paraphernalia was recovered. A sixth person was arrested later after he was located and a search warrant was undertaken on his vehicle. The warrant was initially served in connection to a rash of catyalytic converter thefts in Stanton over the past weekend and theft of fuel from two vehicles by drilling and damaging the gas tanks. Seth Gatewood, 28, Homeless was arrested on theft and criminal mischief charges for his alleged involvement in taking the stolen property along with charges of Obstructing a Police Officer and Driving During Suspension. Several items of evidence were recovered from his vehicle. Christian Sidzyik, 33, of Stanton was arrested on Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Darion Hanson. 29, of Stanton was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. Natasha Vanness-Hauf, 25, of Stanton was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Dylan Bolte, 29, of Stanton was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. Jeremy Dewitt, 43, Homeless was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. The thefts of catyalytic converters has become a major theft problem across the Midwest and law enforcement is working with metal vendors in attempts to thwart the thefts that cause significant damage and cost to victims vehicles. All six suspects were booked at the Sheriff’s office and are scheduled to appear in court in July.
