LONGTIME EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR DIES SUDDENLY

The Sheriff’s office is sad to announce that longtime Stanton County Emergency Director Sanford (Sandy) Goshorn (653) died suddenly Friday evening. Sanford collapsed at this home and was later pronounced dead at FRHS after being taken there by ambulance. Sanford had been the Emergency Management Director for more than 30 years and had served as a Deputy State Fire Marshal before retiring from that position several years ago. Sanford was a decorated combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient for his service in Vietnam. Sanford had just submitted his resignation as Director on Thursday. Sanford will be sadly missed by all and especially the citizens of Stanton County who he served for so many years.
