On Tuesday morning at about 10:00 a.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a 911 call of a disturbance in Stanton. A female was located at a residence and advised she had been assaulted by a male inside the residence. Edward Schmitz, 40, of Stanton was then taken into custody for Domestic Assault after a brief struggle to subdue him. He was jailed pending the posting of a cash bond. The female Lindsey Jensen, 36, of Neola, Iowa was found in possession of methamphetamine. She was booked on the felony drug charge and has an initial court appearance next month. Update: Schmitz was released from custody after posting a $50,000.00 bond.
