Kimberly Neiman who served as the Village Clerk of Pilger for many years was bound over by County Judge Michael Long on Tuesday to District Court on seven felony Theft charges. Neiman was arrested by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office in January on a felony arrest warrant charging 17 counts of theft and official misconduct. The warrant was issued after a nearly year long investigation by the Sheriff’s office and Stanton County Attorney’s office into more than $700.000.00 in unlawfully spent funds from the Village of Pilger accounts. Neiman waived her right to a preliminary hearing in Stanton County Court and will appear next month in District Court. Misdemeanor charges against her were dismissed and will be re-filed in the District Court as a standard procedure. Neiman remains free on a cash bond she posted shortly after her arrest.
