On Sunday morning at about 2:30 a.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office observed a vehicle driving on the shoulder of Hwy 35 near Woodland Park and then the vehicle was clocked speeding at 90 mph in the 60 mph zone. The northbound vehicle was stopped and the driver Kayla Ingram, 31, of Hoskins was found to be under the influence of alcohol. During contact with her she allegedly assaulted a deputy by kicking him in the knee. She was physically taken into custody and later refused a chemical breath test at the Sheriff’s office. She faces charges of Speeding, No Drivers License, DWI, Assault on a Police Officer and Refusal of a Chemical Test. Ingram was very uncooperative during her booking process and is scheduled to appear in court in February for arraignment.
