20 Year Old College Student Injured in One Vehicle Rollover on Hwy 15

At about 2:40 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was dispatched to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 15 about 7 miles south of Pilger that sent the lone female driver to the hospital. The accident occurred when a southbound SUV was attempting to pass a southbound semi and lost control and drove off the highway into the east ditch and sent airborne and then rolled over a fence and continued to roll four more times before coming to rest about 50 yards off the highway in a corn field, The 20 year old female driver from Seward was returning home from college in South Dakota when the accident occurred. She was restrained and airbags did deploy. She was transported to the West Point hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The SUV was a total loss and both Pilger Fire and Rescue and Wisner Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. “There is no doubt that seatbelts worked in this crash and probably saved the life of the lone driver.” SHERIFFMIKE UNGER
