Just before 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning a Stanton County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle spinning its tires on main street in Stanton. The vehicle was then stopped near 7th and Locust at which time the male driver exited his vehicle and produced a handgun from his waist. The Sheriff’s deputy immediately confronted him with his drawn firearm and verbal commands, the man, Allan Wurdinger, 38, of Stanton did put the firearm down on the back of his vehicle. Wurdinger then became uncooperative and verbally combative, refusing verbal commands. An assist officer call led to the Sheriff quickly arriving to assist and Wurdinger was taken to the ground where he physically resisted efforts to handcuff him and place him in a patrol unit. After Wurdinger was subdued he was booked at the Sheriff’s office on charges of Exhibition Driving, Obstructing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest-2nd offense and Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. A loaded semi-automatic pistol that Wurdinger possessed was seized during the investigation.
