At about 5:45 p.m. on Friday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a three vehicle accident at the Hwy 275 and Hwy 15 (Wayne Junction) about two miles east of Pilger. The accident occurred when a vehicle turned right onto Hwy 275 from Hwy 15 into the path of westbound vehicle on Hwy 275 and that collision forced the westbound vehicle to strike a third vehicle on Hwy 275 who was waiting to turn North onto Hwy 15. The Adult drivers of all three vehicles were treated at the scene by EMS but declined transport. Seatbelts were in use in all three vehicles and are credited with preventing more serious injuries. Two of the three vehicles were considered to be total losses and airbags did deploy in the westbound vehicle. Pilger and Wisner Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene along with assistance from the Cuming County Sheriff’s office. It was raining at the time of the accident that may have affected visibility in the area.
