At about 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office discovered a pickup that had slid off Hwy 57 (10th Street) in Stanton and the driver was found laying outside the pickup and appeared very intoxicated. Eric Johnson, 49, of Papillion was then taken to and booked at the Sheriff’s office for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated after a BAC testing of his breath was more than four times the legal limit. Johnson advised he was enroute to Norfolk from Omaha at the time of his arrest. This is the second drunk driver arrested this past weekend that had slid off the roadways during poor weather and road conditions, the first was an arrest on Saturday morning at about 7:30 a.m. on Hwy 15 south of Pilger. “Again this shows that Drunk Drivers are present at every minute of the day in every weather environment and tragedies are often just a blink of the eye away!” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
