On Wednesday afternoon a traffic stop on Hwy 275 near Pilger by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office for expired license plates led to the arrest of a 36-year-old Kentucky woman on warrants out of Missouri and Kansas. Elizabeth Johnson was found to have an active felony arrest warrant out of Greene County, Missouri for theft and a second warrant out of Shawnee County, KS for a drug violation. She was taken into custody and jailed pending extradition proceedings. A small child was taken into custody and released to a family member. “This is an example of traffic enforcement for minor violations often leading to more serious offenses and violations that gets criminals off our roadways.
