On Wednesday afternoon shortly after 1:00 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence in Stanton. Upon arriving it was found that a man and woman were observed exiting the residence and had driven away in a van. The van was located in Stanton and the pair were contacted by the Sheriff’s office and identified as Robert Goste, Jr., 59 and Sandra Johnson, 57, both of Norfolk. Further investigation revealed that they entered the residence by opening a closed garage door and removed various items from inside the residence without permission. Those stolen items were located inside the van along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Goste was arrested on charges of Criminal Trespass, Burglary and Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia along with Driving During Suspension. Johnson was arrested on charges of Criminal Trespass and Burglary. Both are scheduled to appear in court next month.
