Just before 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening a 911 report of an erratic driver on Hwy 15, south of Pilger was received by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office. Shortly after the vehicle was observed committing several traffic violations and it was stopped on Hwy 275 near Pilger by the Sheriff’s office. A passenger, Johnathan Baier, 45, Homeless was found to have an active Madison County Arrest Warrant for Theft. He was placed under arrest and was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on his person. The driver, Cheri Thornton, 61, of Norfolk was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and also located in her possession was a significant amount of pre-packaged methamphetamine prepared for sale. Thornton further advised that she sold drugs to supplement her retirement income. Both were then jailed on felony drug charges pending the posting of a $50,000.00 bond each.
