Just before midnight on Wednesday night a vehicle was observed by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office speeding on Hwy 275 at 103 mph in the posted 65 mph zone near Pilger. The vehicle was stopped and the female driver, Lisa Wortmann, 38, of Norfolk was found to be intoxicated. Wortmann refused to cooperate and and physically was subdued and placed under arrest for DWI. She was booked at the Sheriff’s office where she refused a chemical breath test and began acting out and spitting saliva throughout the office. She was then jailed on charges of Speeding, DWI, Refusal of a Chemical Test, Resisting and Obstructing Arrest. She remains in jail pending the posting of a cash bond.
