Friday night at the Stanton VFW the Sheriff’s office held their annual appreciation supper and handed out earned awards. Sergeant Michael Petersen was given his 15 year plaque for years of service. Sgt. Petersen is the longest continuous Sheriff’s Deputy in office history. Deputy Sheriff Derek Bosler was given the first annual Deputy Sheriff of the Year award after showing in 2025 his outstanding performance and above the call of duty efforts in doing his job every day. Sheriff Mike Unger was presented with a Stanton Veterans Memorial tile with his veteran service photo and information about his U.S. Army Service as a Military Policeman in Germany by his entire staff.
