SeatBelts and Airbags Credited With Lessening Injuries in 2 Vehicle Accident South of Stanton

Just before 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a two vehicle accident on Hwy 57 about two miles south of Stanton. The accident occurred when a 15 year old high school student was pulling onto Hwy 57 from a private driveway and broadsided a southbound van driven by a 23 year old Stanton woman. The female driver of the van was transported to FRHS by Norfolk Fire and Rescue (Stanton Rescue was unavailable) with possible internal injuries. The 15 year old was uninjured and seatbelts were in use and airbags deployed in both vehicles. Both vehicles are considered a total loss. “Seatbelts do work and this is a perfect example of that!” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
