On Monday morning in Stanton County District Court the following men were sentenced to prison on Stanton County felony charges. Riley Longsdorf, 20, Omaha was sentenced to 18 months in prison on a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Psilocybin Mushrooms). Longsdorf was arrested in 2024 by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office following a traffic stop on Hwy 275 and was later sentenced to probation which he violated after getting arrested for possession of nearly two pounds of marijuana. His probation was revoked and he received the prison sentence from Judge Michael Long. Also sentenced to prison was Tyler Kocian, 29, West Point to 18 to 27 months in prison for charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, Criminal Mischief and Willful Reckless Driving. Kocian was arrested the early morning of February 9, 2025 following a lengthy pursuit where he intentionally struck a Stanton County Sheriff’s patrol unit just east of Norfolk and was pursued to Blair where he was finally taken into custody buy the Sheriff’s office. Judge Long also revoked his drivers license for two years.
