The higher speeding fines in Nebraska have now kicked in and doesn’t seem to matter to those that are just going to speed no matter what. On Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. on Hwy 57 about five miles south of Stanton, the Stanton County Sheriff’s office clocked a northbound speeding car at 120 mph (Locked @ 118) in the posted 65 mph zone. The 18 year old driver from Norfolk stated she just wanted to get home before she was given her citation. Last week it was an experienced driver from New York travelling at 103 mph in a 65 mph zone. “These speeds on our highways are just a split second from causing catastrophic results that often take the innocent-please consider the consequences before tragedy does happen again.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
