Norfolk Man Arrested on Felony DUS Charge Near Stanton

On Saturday afternoon about 3:15 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office stopped a eastbound vehicle on Hwy 275 near the Hwy 57 junction for having excessive window tint. The driver who provided multiple identifications was finally identified using a mobile fingerprint scanner as Juan Jaraz-Armenta, 50, of Norfolk. A records check showed he was revoked for multiple DWI’s and was ineligible to drive until at least 2027. He was placed under arrest on the felony Driving During Suspension charge and jailed pending the posting of a yet to be set cash bond. He was also cited for a Window Tint Violation on his vehicle. “Another example of pro-active traffic enforcement that gets a felon off the roadways that shouldn’t be driving and helps keep our loved ones safer.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER

***UPDATE*** Jaraz-Armenta now has a Federal ICE Hold on him as it has been discovered he has previously been deported four times from the United States and unlawfully re-entered.
