Nine year old Bryce was transported twice last Wednesday from his Stanton residence by ambulance to a Norfolk hospital and was even later transferred to Children’s Hospital in Omaha with a serious medical issue after the second transport. The young boy who is autistic, suffered from severe seizures early that morning and again later in the day after his first hospital release. On both occasions Sheriff Unger and various deputies responded and aided in keeping him safe until EMS arrived and took him for further treatment. On Sunday the family of Bryce contacted Sheriff Unger to let them know that Bryce was out of the hospital, but still has a long road of treatment a head of him. Bryce wished to come to the Sheriff’s office and give thanks in person. The following statement is from Bryce mother Andrea Knapton: ” My family wishes to Thank Sheriff Unger and his deputies for the quick response and medical attention to my autistic son Bryce. Your compassion and knowledge while taking care of him while we waited for EMS and Norfolk Rescue to arrive was outstanding. We moved to Stanton, because we knew we would be safe with professionals like you.” The Sheriff’s office ask that you keep Bryce in your prayers as he has a long medical battle ahead!
