Early Morning Accident on Hwy 57 Sends Stanton Woman to Hospital

At about 3:48 a.m. on Saturday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 57 about one half a mile north of Stanton that injured a 56 year old Stanton woman. The accident occurred when the southbound SUV encountered very slick conditions on the highway due to overflow mud that had entered the roadway from ongoing roadway construction. This caused the lone driver to lose control of her SUV and it entered the west ditch and rolled coming to rest on its side. The female driver was unrestrained and was able to crawl out of the wreckage. She was then transported to FRHS by Norfolk Fire and Rescue with non-life threatening injuries. The SUV is considered a total loss.
