At about 1:20 p.m. on Saturday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office stopped a speeding vehicle westbound on Hwy 275 near Pilger that was travelling 95 mph in the 65 mph zone. The driver was identified as Gustavo Rivero-Morales 35, of Norfolk and he was found to have two out of state arrest warrants from St. Charles County, Missouri and Woodbury County, Iowa for theft related charges. Rivero-Morales was arrested on the extraditable warrants and jailed, pending an extradition hearing. He was further cited for Speeding 95/65 and Driving With a Suspended License in Stanton County. Rivero-Morales is the second person in the past week that has been stopped for speeding near Pilger that resulted in their arrest for out of state felony warrants. “Again pro-active traffic enforcement leads to not only getting criminals and probable illegal aliens off our roadways, but keeps Stanton County roads much safer, as in the past week we have also cited four people for speeding at more than 100 mph on various Stanton county highways.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER🚓
