For the Second Day in a Row a Felony Warrant Arrest During a Traffic Contact

On Friday afternoon at about 5:20 p.m., the Stanton County Sheriff’s office had contact with a vehicle on Hwy 15 northeast of Pilger. During the contact the driver, Zavier Betts, 23, of LaVista was found to have a suspended driver’s license and also was wanted on a Probation Warrant (Drug Violation) with no bond out of Woodbury County, Iowa. Betts was placed under arrest for the DUS and outstanding warrant and jailed pending an extradition hearing back to Iowa. This was the second time in just over 24 hours that a traffic contact had led to the arrest of a driver on an outstanding felony warrant. “Vigilant Traffic Enforcement not only helps keep our roadways safer but also leads to putting wanted people in jail where they belong.” Sheriff Mike Unger
