The Sheriff’s Office recently given Safety Kits from the Autism Action Partnership

The Sheriff’s office was gifted awareness kits for Special needs person(s) from the Autism Action Partership. The kits are designed to be used to help any special needs person when having interaction with law enforcement, especially those with autism. The kits were donated to the Sheriff’s office by Stanton County resident Randy Oertwich of Pilger whose son, Mark is autistic. The kits will be placed in every patrol unit operated by the Sheriff’s office. “We appreciate another tool that we can use to help anyone with special needs and have successful encounters with those in need” Said Sheriff Mike Unger.
