Winter Weather Still Causing Havoc on Highway 275

On Sunday afternoon just after noon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle accident that sent a 40 year old Otoe County woman to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of a possible head injury. The accident occurred when the west bound SUV encountered poor road conditions about 1.5 miles west of Pilger on Hwy 275 and crossed the westbound lane and entered a field. Pilger and Wisner Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene. During this time two other vehicles left the highway in the area due to poor road conditions and high winds that caused a ground blizzard in this area of Hwy 275 that caused poor visibility as well. Later in the day several other vehicles also lost control on the highway in that same area and left the roadway.
