Guatemalan National Sentenced to Prison Term for Killing Great American Bald Eagle in Stanton County

Earlier this week a former Norfolk man, Domingo Zetina-Hernandez was sentenced to a prison term for his involvement in killing a Great American Bald Eagle earlier this year in Stanton County near Wood Duck recreation area. Zetina-Hernandez has been in custody since March 20th and was given credit for time served and still faces possible removal from the United States for unlawful entry. He was cited along Ramiro Hernandez-Tzquin, 20, also formerly of Norfolk by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office. The men described shooting the protected bird with a high-powered air rifle with the intent to cook and eat the bird. The case made national news at the time and Hernandez-Tzquin fled the area and is currently wanted on a federal arrest warrant. The deceased bird was turned over to Game and Parks officials for a proper disposal
