Between August 16th and September 4th, the Stanton County Sheriff’s office participated in the statewide Nebraska Drive Sober or get pulled over campaign. During that period of time, the Sheriff’s office put 950 hours of work (patrol) time into the effort that resulted in four DWI arrest, 172 citations issued for speeding (including more than a dozen for speeding at more than 100 mph), seven liquor violations (Open Container/MIP), five felony drug arrest and numerous traffic violation warnings given. The Sheriff’s office also is pleased to announce during the campaign no fatal accidents or accidents involving alcohol were recorded in Stanton County. The Sheriff’s office continues to take a pro-active approach to reducing all crashes and especially those involving illegal alcohol or drug use.
