On Monday evening at about 6:00 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a disturbance at a Woodland Park residence that led to the arrest of a 38 year old woman. Bethany Van Duzer was arrested on charges of Second Degree Assault and Disturbing the Peace after she allegedly struck her daughter in the head with an aluminum bat during an altercation between the two. The adult daughter was treated at the scene by EMS for an obvious head injury, but declined transport to the hospital. Van Duzer was jailed on the felony assault and will have to post a cash bond to be released.
