Two Juveniles Arrested after Unprovoked Attack in Woodland Park

At about 8:30 p.m. on Friday night the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a reported strong arm robbery that had just taken place in the Sherwood Park area of Woodland Park. The report was a 14 year old boy was jumped and assaulted forcibly having his personal property including money taken by two males who were wearing black facemask covering their faces. The two suspects fled on foot and were later observed on video shoplifting at the Lil Store in Woodland Park and about 45 minutes later were taken into custody after reports from citizens observing them hiding near residences in Woodland Park. Both suspects were juveniles and arrested on charges of Assault, Theft and Disturbing the Peace. The stolen property and facemask were recovered from the suspects and they were released to their respective parents pending formal charges.
