Sheriff’s Office Sees Uptick in Marijuana Possession and Arrest

The Stanton County Sheriff’s office wishes to remind everyone that Marijuana and THC possession in Nebraska is illegal and citations and arrest for the prohibited substances are going up in the county. On Friday night at about 10:00 p.m. a traffic stop south of Pilger on Hwy 15 yielded a large assortment of marijuana and THC products and paraphernalia. Two out of state residents, Chanda Green, 31, Sioux City, Ia and Michael Curry, 33, of Los Angeles, Ca were stopped for speeding and subsequently found to possess the large assortment of drug contraband. Both were cited for the violations and released. The Sheriff’s office will continue to vigorously enforce and seek out violators of Nebraska drug laws. As Sheriff Unger often tells those caught in illegal possession, “This is not Colorado!”.
