In Stanton County District Court Derrick Haywood, 38, Homeless, entered a no contest plea to a charge of Burglary and will be sentenced later this year. He faces up to 20 years in prison for the felony conviction. He was arrested last fall by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office following an investigation into the break-in of the Pilger Pride convenience store in Pilger. A Co-defendant Brittney Borgmann is currently serving a jail sentence for her part in the break-in.
Also pleading guilty in District Court was Ivan Salmons, 61, of rural Stanton to a charge of Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Salmons faces up to fifty years in prison when he is sentenced later this year. Salmons was arrested by the Sheriff’s office following an investigation and service of a search warrant at his residence in early 2019.
Sentenced to 120 days in jail for Obstructing a Police officer and Disturbing the Peace was Austin Sanne, 30, of Woodland Park. He was arrested earlier this year by the Sheriff’s office at a Woodland Park residence following a disturbance where he physically had to be subdued.
In Stanton County Court the following individuals received jail sentences following their respective convictions. Deshawn Gleaton Jr., 28, of Norfolk was sentenced to ninety days in the county jail for Possession of Marijuana and Driving During Suspension. He was arrested earlier this year near Stanton by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office.
Heather Mielke, 38, Woodland Park was sentenced to ninety days in jail for Criminal Impersonation. She was arrested last fall by the Sheriff’s office following an investigation into the unlawful use of a credit credit/debit card.
Joe Nash, 35, Norfolk was sentenced to three days in jail for Driving During Suspension. He was arrested earlier this year by the Sheriff’s office near Stanton.
Jordan Doolittle, 20, Norfolk was sentenced to three days in jail for her conviction of Minor in Possession/Consumption of Alcohol. She was arrested at a large beer party earlier this summer by the Sheriff’s office.
James Beaver, 45, Pilger was sentenced to seven days in jail for DWI. He was arrested by the Sheriff’s office near Pilger.
Andres Alvarez, 21, Norfolk was sentenced to three days in jail for Driving During Suspension. He was arrested by the Sheriff’s office earlier this year on Hwy 275.
