On Thursday night at about 9:15 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office arrested a 62 year old Norfolk man on Drunk Driving charges after he was clocked speeding westbound on U.S. Hwy 275 just East of Norfolk and initially failed to stop until he came to a stop on East Omaha Avenue inside the Norfolk city limits. James Wimsatt was speeding at 81 mph in the 70 mph zone and was finally stopped near South Chestnut. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was charged with Speeding and DWI-3rd offense after testing nearly twice the legal limit. Wimsatt was released from custody after posting a $1000.00 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court in July.
