Stanton man enters No Contest Plea in District Court

Marcus Click, 45, Stanton entered a No Contest plea to a felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) in District Court this morning. Click will be sentenced in May by Judge Mark Johnson. Click was arrested last July by the Sheriff’s office in Stanton along with two other males who have already been convicted and sentenced.

Also sentenced in District Court to thirty days in jail following his conviction on a felony charge of Failure to Register as A Sex Offender was Austin Murphy, 23, of Wisner. Murphy was arrested by the Sheriff’s office last Fall following an investigation into his failure to register properly. Murphy is on the sex offender registry for a sexual assault conviction from 2016 in Stanton County where he was arrested by the Sheriff’s office for having sexual contact with a juvenile female in rural Stanton.

Also entering a guilty plea to two felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (RX) was Caleb Haas, 25, of Wisner. Haas pled guilty as part of a plea agreement where a methamphetamine charge was dismissed. He will also be sentenced in May by Judge Johnson. Haas was arrested last year by the Sheriff’s office following a traffic stop on Hwy 275 near Stanton.
