On Wednesday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office was dispatched to a disturbance in the area of 17th and Hickory in Stanton. One of the involved parties was observed driving a vehicle away from the area and was contacted. Rick Ristau, 38, of Stanton was found to be under the influence of alcoholic liquor and subsequently was placed under arrest for DWI. He was booked at the Sheriff’s office where he provided a breath sample more than twice the legal limit. Ristau was then charged with aggravated felony DWI-3rd offense with a chemical test over (.150% BAC.). Ristau has four prior DWI convictions and will appear next month in court after a release on a cash bond. “Dangerous Intoxicated Drivers are present all hours of the day and night in all types of locations and put everyone at risk, especially the kids playing in the park area of this incident.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
