Norfolk Woman Arrested For Trying to Damage Stanton Business

On September 8, 2026 at about 10:00 p.m. an unknown female was observed on surveillance cameras shutting off the main power to two Stanton businesses on 10th Street in downtown Stanton. This could have resulted in major financial loss of product and damage to the business before it was discovered and turned back on. As a result of this criminal act the Stanton County Sheriff’s office undertook a investigation that led to a suspect being identified and on Sunday September 13th, the female was contacted and interviewed and then taken into custody on a felony charge of Criminal Mischief-Infrastructure (Class III felony) and jailed. Ashley Jensen, 33, of Norfolk was also arrested on a Colfax County Arrest Warrant for Theft and Probation Violations. “This could have been a serious financial blow to Stanton businesses and I applaud the relentless efforts of my deputies in locating and arresting the alleged perpetrator.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
