On Saturday evening at about 7:40 pm. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office stopped a speeding vehicle on Hwy 275 near Pilger traveling 94 mph in the 65 mph zone. The driver who had no Operators License was later identified as Juan Benitez-Sermano, 43, of Omaha and with the use of a mobile fingerprint reader he was confirmed to be wanted out of Douglas County for assault and had an ICE detainer for illegal entry into the United States. He was taken into custody and jailed pending return to federal authorities after his Douglas County charges are adjudicated. “Again traffic enforcement leads to a wanted person being taken off our roadways.” SHERIFF MIKE UNGER
